The protest version
Ash descended, low and wide.
Burned the blood they sanctified.
Marked the lost and barred the way.
Left us ash and none to pray.
Shamed the hands once sworn to flame.
Lit the pyre in brother’s name.
Smoke to rise and blind the eyes.
Truth went quiet while he died.
Crystal cracked and bleeding through.
Mana chained to just a few.
Called it gift, then sealed the spark.
Taught me pain and left it dark.
Ash descended, rise again.
